Is an ambassador for The Year of Young People 2018 for Young Scot

At camp this year in Yorkshire I was awarded the Kayleigh MacIntosh award.  This is the award for students who are seen to have given 100%. So proud!

Gained confidence to consider own issues with mental health and has undertaken an additional online course exploring mental health issues with an aim to supporting other young people in the future.

Got to help present the DVD ‘Don’t judge – we’re no different from you’ to the First Minister and a selected audience.

Won the CELCIS ‘Get Write In’ writing competition for their age category and was presented with a prize by the Scots Makar Jackie Kay and Minister for Early Years and Childcare.

Got 5 A passes in exams.

Taken part in a residential weekend with the Children’s Commisioner for Scotland and is one of 50 young people in Scotland to get picked for this.

Left school and managed to find a job and working hard at fitting in with all the shifts and showing great motivation and work ethic.

As part of the YPOC group visited Scottish Parliament, met Nicola Sturgeon and presented the campaign ‘Don’t Judge we are no different from you.’

Gained confidence to consider own issues with mental health and has undertaken an additional online course exploring mental health issues with an aim to supporting other young people in the future.

Got more confident with my singing and song writing since writing and performing the song ‘Not your right’ for the ‘Don’t judge – we’re no different from you’ DVD.

Found my own flat, work 2 jobs and enrolled in college too!

Took part in giving a workshop in Glasgow to CELCIS- a conference for residential staff and showed the YPOC’s DVD.

Has got 2 jobs and works hard at school.

Recently moved foster placement and schools and still able to gain a silver medal at the school swimming Gala.

Has found a real interest in Makeup artistry and has been undertaking work experience and online courses to achieve ambition of doing stage make up.

Moved schools and has settled in and has won a silver award in swimming and also awards for reading.  Has ambition to win even more medals.

Presented the DVD ‘Don’t judge – we’re no different from you’ to Second year up to Sixth year of Meldrum Academy in assemblies with the help of Childrens Rights Officers – Kate and Laura  and also  Who Cares worker Lynne .

Applying to become an Officer in the RAF.  The interview was one of the best the RAF has seen in many years.  Work at after school club whilst doing various RAF tests.
