AVA’s vision is for Aberdeenshire to be a place where positive social change is led by communities. Our mission is to strengthen Aberdeenshire’s diverse communities of geography and interest, ensuring they are powerful, resilient and resourced to develop their own solutions to issues they face.
AVA is the region’s link between the Third Sector and public services. We support organisations working with children, young people, and families by helping them become better governed, better funded, and more visible.
As a member-led organisation and as Aberdeenshire’s Third Sector Interface, AVA fosters collaboration across sectors and ensures local knowledge informs planning and decision-making. We also host the Children and Families Network, a space for sharing insight, strengthening partnerships, and shaping services.

Aberdeenshire’s Children & Families Network: AVA facilitates the Aberdeenshire’s Children & Families Network.
The Network is open to any Third Sector Organisations who work with, or have an interest in, the well-being of children, young people, families and carers in Aberdeenshire. The Network provides a supportive space to share, explore, learn, and collaborate – helping strengthen community-led action across the region.
The Network aims to improve partnership and joint working across the sector, supporting improvement and development to safeguard children and promote wellbeing through connection, the sharing of knowledge and training opportunities.
Through Network member events and opportunities, the skills and experience of the Third Sector are recognised and contribution to local and national agendas promoted.

Aberdeenshire Third Sector Organisations
Aberdeenshire’s Third Sector provides a wide range of support and plays a vital role in delivering services directly to children, young people, and families.
The Third Sector is diverse in nature, compromising of charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, cooperatives, social enterprises, as well as individual volunteers.
As Aberdeenshire’s Third Sector Interface, AVA is a key point of contact connecting the Third Sector and Statutory partners and is committed to the principle of partnership working.
