Aberdeenshire’s Third Sector provides a wide range of support and plays a vital role in delivering services directly to children, young people, and families. The Third Sector is diverse in nature, compromising of charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, cooperatives, social enterprises, as well as individual volunteers. As Aberdeenshire’s Third Sector Interface, Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action is a key point of contact for connecting the Third Sector and Statutory partners and is committed to the principle of partnership working.
AVA supports the development and promotion of the Third Sector to be better governed, better funded and more visible. AVA facilitates opportunities to create collaborative working relationships within the sector and across partnerships both locally and nationally. Through this engagement and consultation, the knowledge and experience of the Third Sector can be reflected within the planning process and help to achieve better outcomes for the children, young people, and families in Aberdeenshire.
