Year of Young People 2018 (YOYP 2018) is a national celebration of Scotland’s amazing young personalities, talents, and achievers, which aims to inspire the nation through recognising young people’s ideas, attitudes and ambitions. Through creating opportunities to shine locally, nationally and globally, it values young people’s contribution to our communities. A year long programme of events, activities and ideas will give Aberdeenshire’s young people the chance to participate at a local and national level, and show the world what they’re made of.

Six YOYP 2018 themes were developed from discussion events held with young people across the nation. These are:

  • Culture
  • Education
  • Enterprise & Regeneration
  • Equality & Discrimination
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Participation
