The Mental Health and Wellbeing Toolkit, a comprehensive resource designed to support individuals and services in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. The toolkit consists of 3 key parts:
1 – Mental Health Resources and Support Services
A comprehensive list of mental health resources and support services available to individuals. These resources range from helplines and online counselling to support groups and self-help materials.
2 – Mental Health Guidance and Policies
A directory of guidance and policies for promoting positive mental health and creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
3 – Mental Health Professional Learning Framework
The Mental Health Professional Learning Framework is a key component of the toolkit. This framework provides opportunities to build knowledge and skills that are required for everyone who works with children and young people to provide effective support to those in need
Aberdeenshire is committed to ensuring that everyone who works with children and young people has access to core mental health training. Our Core Multi-Agency Mental Health Professional Learning Framework highlights details of these core learning opportunities which are endorsed and recommended by Senior Leaders across different agencies, alongside suggestions of further optional training opportunities.
The training opportunities have being separated into three levels according to the nature of contact that people have with children and young people within their job roles. These levels are:
INFORMED (Category 1 – Support for All)
Knowledge and skills required by everyone who encounters children and young people as part of their job role.
SKILLED (Category 2 – Early Support)
Knowledge and skills required by workers who have direct and/or substantial contact with children and young people.
ENHANCED (Category 3 – Additional Support)
Knowledge and skills required by workers who have regular and intense contact with children and young people who are known to have mental health problems and who can deliver targeted interventions with appropriate training and support.
